About Hotel Olatzea

Olatzea Hotel, inagurated in november 2008, is in the town of Arbizu, in the region of Navarre. The town has a population of 1,100 inhabitants and is situated in Sakana Valley, amidst the Aralar, Urbasa and Andia mountains. It has good communications by dual carriageway and motorway and can easily and quickly be reached from Pamplona - 40 km; Vitoria - 60 km; San Sebastian - 78 km; Bilbao - 116 km. The ancient mill of Arbizu has now been transformed into the new, comfortable Olatzea Hotel. The new construction and its current premises show great respect for the original structure and correct operation of that former tool that once denoted the progress made during the 19th century when grain was milled, as well as the machinery that first generated the electricity in the town of Arbizu. Water is supplied by the Leziza canal that is next to the Hotel, just as it has done for 2 centuries, and the process ends with the movement of the stone that mills the grain (located in the hotel reception area). The original mill premises are in the hotel basement, and can be seen from the conference room that has been installed there.
