About NH San Pedro de Alcántara
Situated a ten-minute walk from long, golden beaches and in the main shopping centre of San Pedro Alcántra, the three-star NH San Pedro is ideally placed to explore Spain's Costa del Sol.
60 standard rooms and five suites have recently replaced mattresses, air conditioning, bathrobes, toiletries, a choice of pillows, desk and a safe.
The hotel's crowning glory is its rooftop terrace; with comfortable seating and parasols, open seasonally. Other facilities include free Wi-Fi, vending machines for late-night snacks, 24-hour front desk and bicycle rental.
Fresh fruit, cheeses and cold cuts are served in addition to Spanish omelettes at the buffet breakfast, and there are several bars. Alfredo Bar Restaurante and Albert y Simon Restaurante are a four-minute walk away, and offer evening meals.
Lorea Playa Beach and Puerto Banus Marina are 2.6km and 4.3km away from the hotel, respectively, and the Sierra Blancas Mountains can be reached within 20-minutes.
Positive Reviews
positive:
Central location.
The location of NH San Pedro is why most choose it; ten-minutes from the beach, with a supermarket next door and numerous shops, bars and restaurants a short stroll away. Parking is easy and, for those wishing to enjoy Puerto Banus, the beautiful marina is an inexpensive taxi ride away.
positive:
Sea and mountain views.
Guests who have chosen to upgrade to balcony rooms have been incredibly pleased with their decision to do so. If you'd rather stick with a standard room, you can make the rooftop terrace your new favourite haunt; order a drink, listen to music, and enjoy the same sea and mountain views as the aforementioned guest rooms.
positive:
Value-for-money accommodation.
Most guests would describe the hotel as a no-frills option, lacking in leisure facilities, but getting all the basics right; clean, tidy common areas and spacious rooms with excellent beds.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Plumbing odours.
First impressions are important and here, some guests find that the first thing they notice is a slight, yet unpleasant, odour coming from the hotel bathrooms and corridors. Several guests have reported discussing this with staff on the premises; who are, apparently, aware of an issue.
negative:
A slow, drawn-out process.
Previous guests have criticised the Wi-Fi at the hotel. It is free, but many have difficulties accessing it and, if they do manage to find signal, are subjected to a long, drawn-out process in order to connect.
negative:
Continental only.
If you're a fan of a Full English Breakfast on holiday you may be disappointed. The hotel breakfast is vast, with a large choice of continental items available, however, if you're really after bacon and eggs, you'll need to try one of the local cafes nearby.
