It’s difficult to find at first. Once here, though, parking is free, including that for larger vehicles. It’s very handy for access to the Civic Centre and local businesses; plus the Mekong Restaurant and Sacha’s Café are among a number of places to eat. There’s also a Walmart just across the – be careful, very busy - road.

Some rooms have been revamped and represent good value. There's a free shuttle service to the greyhound station, so that’s a useful plus for many. The downtown bus leaves from outside and is very cheap.

Like so many places, it’s the members of staff who save the day. Their friendly and helpful attitude really covers some cracks in the veneer of the hotel’s operation.

There are some really strange characters. Some are obviously staying here long-term, whilst others are just lurking around. Prepare to be approached and be offered a range of ‘personal services’ or hassled by residents to see if you’ll provide any. Yep! There’s plenty of evidence of drugs too. It’s OK if you can laugh all these things off, but not everyone can. Because of the suspicious nature of some of these people, you also worry about the safety of your car which is parked outside.

Night time noise blasts at you from all directions – from outside and inside the hotel. The road is very busy at all times.

Hopefully, they’ll take better care of the revamped rooms but the others have dirty curtains and carpets. The bathroom is also dirty and they are slovenly in the provision of basics such as towels and loo paper. Bed bugs and cockroaches thrive.
