Positive Reviews
positive:
Fantastic dining services.
The breakfasts and dinners in Monachty's pub and restaurant area are superb, and will keep you more than satisfied between tourism outings. The bar also provides a number of craft brews and more popular brands for evening drinks.
positive:
Idyllic harbor views.
Aberaeron's nearby harbour, which is one of the most common sightseeing destinations in the area, is on full display from Monachty's terrace section. You can also catch glimpses of the water while dining in the railed seating areas or strolling along the abutting coastal paths.
positive:
Historic surroundings.
Aberaeron itself is a gem of local culture and history, containing a number of tourist attractions and landmark sites you'll have no trouble reaching. The town itself even contains a variety of museums and souvenir shops to make history an engaging outing for you and your family.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Seeping noises.
Noise from the lower floors often creeps up through the floorboards and into the guest areas, which could keep you awake if you're a sensitive sleeper. Most of the noise emanates from the dining areas and common lounge, so try to request a room on the edges of the building.
negative:
Worn-out bedding.
The linens found in Monachty's rooms are too old for comfort, as are the frames for the beds and the pillows. While most of the fixtures work as intended, the general feeling is one of equipment and amenities long past their prime.
negative:
Late breakfast hours.
Breakfast at Monachty doesn't begin until the later morning, which could be problematic if you're keen on waking up and exploring before the day is in full swing. Fortunately, the evening dining hours are much more accommodating to a range of guests.
