Hotel Mirador (Algeciras, Spain)

It was perhaps the views across Algeciras Bay to the Rock of Gibraltar that most impressed guests. It was lovely, of course, but more than this it gave them a distinct sense of history and place.

Again and again guests mentioned how friendly and helpful the staff were. They were said to be especially knowledgeable about the surrounding area, and gave guests great tips on how best to get to Gibraltar and similar matters. The cleaning staff were also often praised for doing an excellent job.

A surprising number of guests commented that they really appreciated having parking right on site. Not only was it on-site, but underground and secure, which gave motorists some peace of mind.

While guests did like the position right on the beach, they also describe it as some distance from the town centre. It was walkable, but the route was by way of a particularly ugly dual carriageway.

There were a couple of complaints that there really didn't seem to be any soundproofing installed between the rooms. Guests mentioned that they could hear what was going on in the adjacent rooms almost as if they were, in fact, going on in their own.

While there is a restaurant on-site, it was not highly rated by the guests. They further stated that they were a bit stuck, since there were really no other restaurants in the area they were happy walking to.
