Positive Reviews
positive:
Conveniently close to main station
Naturally for such a centrally located hotel, it was this location that guests most appreciated. Many guests were making use of Munich's main station, either to go to/from the airport, or elsewhere, and found it very convenient to be staying a very short walk away.
positive:
Excellent Wi-Fi system
Surprisingly for a hotel Wi-Fi system, the one at Mirabell Munich received a lot of praise from guests. Business travellers were especially impressed with the reliability, saying they had confidence it wouldn't let them down.
positive:
Very professional staff
Again and again guests mentioned just how efficient and helpful the staff were. While not exactly described as going beyond their duties, they were said to perform their actual duties to the full. Also, many guests commented that their English language skills were excellent.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Very noisy location
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guests paid for being in such a terrific central location by having to endure a lot of street noise. They mentioned that both noise from cars and revellers passing by were an issue when they were trying to sleep. Light sleepers should bring earplugs.
negative:
Dodgy neighbourhood for some
Like the immediate area surrounding many big city German railway stations, the area around Munich's station was not everybody's cup of tea. Quite a number of guests, especially female guests travelling alone, felt unsafe in the area.
negative:
No air conditioning
While guests said this usually wouldn't be a problem, there were many hot days in summer when air conditioning would have been greatly appreciated. Guests travelling in the cooler months were naturally not as concerned about this.
