The location of the Hotel Milo was a real highlight for previous guests. With a position that is directly adjacent the beach, the hotel is also within walking distance of various popular attractions, restaurants and shops in Santa Barbara.

Most former visitors to the hotel found the complimentary breakfast to be particularly enjoyable. Although the breakfast room itself is regarded as cramped and lacking seating space, the quality of the breakfast itself is considered at a high standard.

The outdoor pool area of the Hotel Milo was popular with past guests. In matching the wonderfully landscaped grounds as a whole, it was said that the area, complete with two heated pools, Jacuzzi and private cabanas, was comfortable with a relaxing ambience.

A negative about the Hotel Milo that has been brought up on many occasions relates to the fact that the rooms do not have air conditioning. Although a fan is provided as an alternative, former visitors have noted that this was not sufficient for them in sufficiently cooling the rooms down during warmer climates.

According to a number of past guests, the soundproofing of the rooms is not the best. As a result, noise from both the street and from others staying at the hotel can supposedly be bothersome.

Previous visitors have had issues with the on-site parking supplied by the Hotel Milo. Whilst the cost imposed by using the on-site parking was begrudged by many for being too high, the parking lot itself is described as small with limited spaces.
