About Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tomah
Conveniently situated right off the I-94, Microtel Inn & Suites Tomah is a pet friendly property offering traditional chain hotel style accommodation.
While the rooms are a little old fashioned, they are nevertheless very well equipped. They have all the practical amenities like cable TV and hairdryers, as well as microwaves and minibars to allow guests to keep their cold drinks cold and their warm snacks warm.
Motorists will find plenty of free onsite parking right out front. Those on business will appreciate both the business center and meeting rooms, and perhaps also the fitness center, where they can continue with their workout routine uninterrupted.
While a simple complimentary breakfast is served every morning, guests will not go hungry at the other two mealtimes. There are a couple of decent chain restaurants in the area, including a Long John Silver’s and a Denny’s.
Downtown Tomah is approximately three miles to the south.
Positive Reviews
positive:
In-room microwave and mini-fridge
Guests really seemed to appreciate the in-room microwaves and fridges. All rooms at the hotel have these and guests found that they were very useful when it came to keeping their cold drinks nice and cold and heating up the odd snack when required.
positive:
Good option for those with pets
Guests traveling with their pets were really happy with the service they received. They mentioned that they felt truly welcomed by the hotel and its staff, rather than merely tolerated as a matter of policy. They also mentioned that the hotel has a great grassy area perfect for walking and playing fetch with their dogs.
positive:
Excellent value for money
The overwhelming majority of guests who brought up the issue of value for money felt that they had received excellent value. Many guests mentioned that other hotels in a similar category in the area had substantially higher room rates.
Negative Reviews
negative:
In desperate need of a makeover
This was perhaps the most common guest complaint. Many felt that it had clearly been many years since the hotel had seen a significant renovation, and they believed that both the rooms and public areas urgently needed one now.
negative:
Rooms too small for many
Many guests felt that the rooms were a bit too small for comfort, especially those traveling as a couple. With two people and their luggage in the room there barely seemed to be any space left to walk around.
negative:
Questions about cleanliness
A bit too many guests for comfort mentioned issues with room cleanliness. The specific complaints were varied, but based on the volume of complaints it seems that cleanliness standards may be applied in a haphazard fashion, with the cleanliness of a room dependent on which specific housekeeper was responsible for that particular room.
