Hotel Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham Meridian (Meridian, USA)

Guests were very pleased to find that there was not only a major mall right across the road, but also loads of places to eat as well, most of them part of reliable national franchises. They certainly didn’t feel they needed to travel far to meet their shopping and dining needs.

Guests clearly felt that housekeeping was on top form in ensuring that both the rooms and public areas of the hotel were kept in tip top shape day in and day out.

The terrific staff members were one of the first things guests mentioned in their reviews. While guests seemed to like all the staff, reception staff came in for especially hearty praise, with many guests mentioning on-duty staff by name and saying they truly went above and beyond.

Guests really didn’t think much of the complimentary continental breakfast offered every morning. There were many complaints, the most typical being that it lacked variety and had nothing at all for those on gluten-free and low-carb diets.

Guests seemed to experience problems with the hotel’s smoking policies. Many non-smokers said that there was a strong smell of tobacco smoke, either on their floor, or even in their room - all this despite booking a non-smoking room. Asthmatics should take note.

Guests felt strongly that the rooms, and the public areas of the hotel, were looking very dated. They said it was obvious that they had not been refreshed for many, many years and urgently needed a full refurbishment in order to remain competitive.
