Hotel Microtel Inn by Wyndham Athens (Athens, USA)

A number of guests were headed to games at the University of Georgia’s Sanford Stadium. To this end they felt the hotel was well placed, being a relatively short drive from the stadium.

One of the things guests tended to agree on was that the beds were actually pretty comfortable. Considering the fact that there were many compliments, but only very few complaints indeed, it seems the hotel may actually have selected a mattress with broad appeal.

A surprising number of guests went out of their way to mention that the water pressure was great and that there was enough hot water available to allow them to have a great shower.

The majority of guests were very dissatisfied with the state of cleanliness of the hotel, especially in their rooms. They felt that housekeeping was extremely slapdash and did not clean the rooms to anywhere close to an acceptable standard.

An incredible number of guests mentioned serous maintenance issues in their room, with appliances working poorly or not at all. The most common complaint was of faulty air conditioning units, but there were plenty more things guests complained about. The general feeling guests got was that the whole property was in a very poor state of repair.

Aside from being dirty, many guests mentioned that their rooms smelled bad. They couldn’t put their finger on exactly what it was, but it certainly did not put them in a good frame of mind.
