Positive Reviews
positive:
Awesome location and close to public transport.
Hotel Metropolitan enjoys a central spot in the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, surrounded by excellent shopping centers, restaurants and bars. The Ikebukuro Station is right next door, where you can catch a train to anywhere in the city and beyond.
positive:
Excellent customer service from courteous staff.
If there is one thing that this hotel does better than anything else, it's the ability of the staff to take complete care of you. No problem is too big or small, and any grievance you have will always be greeted with a smile.
positive:
You can see Mt. Fuji from some room windows!
If you pick a room or suite on the higher floors of the hotel and the window is facing the right way, you could be greeted with a view of snowcapped Mt. Fuji when you pull open the curtains in the morning.
Negative Reviews
negative:
This hotel is starting to show its age.
Whether it's the worn out carpets or the odd smell that seems to emanate from all corners of the premises, this hotel is not aging well. It needs more thorough cleaning and sprucing up to regain its former glory.
negative:
You might find your room a little too small.
If you go for a standard room, or even a superior one, you could find that the space inside of the room is just a bit too small. Tokyo is a notoriously crowded and cramped city, and this hotel continues the trend.
negative:
Additional charge for using the fitness center.
You might be upset to find out that if you want to work out here you will have to pay extra. The majority of hotels offer leisure facilities at no additional cost, but not the Hotel Metropolitan.
