Hotel Mercurio (Venice, Italy)

Whether you're visiting Venice for the first time or not, you'll find that this hotel has a perfect location - central but not amongst the crowds. The hotel is steps from all the top sights of Venice, and very convenient to the Vaporetto water taxi stop. San Marco (St. Mark's) Square is only a short stroll away. Guests also noticed that there are many great restaurants in the area, especially close to the opera house.

Overall, guests were very pleased with their stay. In recent reviews, the bedrooms and bathrooms are always described as clean and neat, and the beds are comfortable. The strong air conditioners were especially appreciated since the temperatures can get really hot in the summer. Quality service only perfected the pleasant first impressions. With the hotel being owned by one family for generations, high quality of hospitality has become a standard here.

Do not to miss out on the excellent breakfast, which boasts an abundant and varied selection, and tasty, filling foods. Also, make sure to try the omelette - which guests repeatedly rave about.

There is no elevator at the hotel and guests warn that there are lots of steps that need to be climbed, even just to get to the reception. To access the rooms, you'll need to climb at least another floor.

Some of the rooms are reported to be very small and cramped, especially the economy ones. Guests suggest upgrading to a suite if space is important to you.
