This is a non-smoking hotel.
This is is a non-smoking property which is great for those who don’t imbibe and like their surroundings smelling fresh, rather than like second-hand smoke.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Things can be noisy.
Be sure to book a room far away from the elevators because you can hear the doors loudly opening and closing, as well as the voices of other hotel guests as they make their way to their rooms. Plus, the elevators run slowly at peak hours, so you may have to endure long conversations that sound like they are happening right in your room. In addition, if you book a room facing the street, you may be kept awake by noise emanating from below.
negative:
The temperature controls are iffy.
The temperature controls don’t work very well in many of the guest rooms and this is especially true of the air conditioning, which barely works at times. If this becomes problematic for you, be sure to alert reception and if the problem persists, which it very well might, ask to be moved to another room.
negative:
This hotel is not centrally located.
Unfortunately, Mercure Bordeaux Centre Meriadeck is not centrally located and this could be problematic if you are out and about until the wee hours. The neighbourhood is iffy and it takes at least two tram stops before you are in a section of the city which offers good restaurants and shops.
