Positive Reviews
positive:
Perfect location
Guests loved the location right on the
beach. They had, of course, come to the Bahamas
for a bit of a beach break, and were very happy to have the beach right out
front. It seemed to tick all the boxes in their personal checklist of what a
tropical resort beach should be.
positive:
Local fare at the restaurants
While foods of many national cuisines are available at the restaurants, guests were impressed that there was a good selection of local Bahamian cuisine, as well as dishes from the broader Caribbean region. They had perhaps been expecting an international resort to offer only “international” cuisine, but were pleasantly surprised.
positive:
Great waterports available
Guests mentioned that there were great watersports offered right from the resort. The kayaks and catamarans, which could be used free of charge, seemed especially popular.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Many service issues
Many guests mentioned experiencing very slow or non-existent service from hotel staff. There often seemed to be a mismatch between the rate at which guests expected something to happen and the rate at which the staff did. Bartenders and wait staff came in for especially harsh criticism in this respect.
negative:
Standards beginning to slide
A worrying number of guests reported getting the feeling that standards were beginning to slide. This was particularly evident in the general maintenance and upkeep of the property. They noticed that management and staff were clearly not paying attention to the small matters, and that this couldn’t bode well for the future.
negative:
Problems at check in
An extraordinary number of guests mentioned being very frustrated with the check-in process. They described it as taking an incredibly long time, hours in some cases, simply to get a room key handed over. Nobody seemed to understand why this took so long, perhaps not even the staff.
