Hotel Medusa (Kriopigi, Greece)

The hotel locale is great. There are plenty of good restaurants and bars with cute gift shops and common supermarkets in the vicinity. If you want to venture out, you have to check-out the Ostria bar, they serve a mean breakfast. They speak good English too. The bistro is nice as well and the pool bar at the Alkion offers fantastic views. The Akropolis serves the best pizza around, it's simply delicious.

The hotel proprietors are a lovely traditional Greek family. They are an extremely amiable bunch and very attentive. Not only the owners, but the entire staff understand the concepts of good hospitality and customer service.

Rooms are sufficiently clean and tidy. The linens are decent and the towels are changed every day. Rooms are basic but have just about everything you need. You have to pay extra for air conditioning, but it's not too expensive. If anything, you will have breathtaking views of the sea and the mountains from the room balcony.

The hill to the beach is a monster. It's steep going down and tough climbing back up. If you try this feat during intense heat, it will be a real challenge. However, you can always hire a car or walk to the beach and take the train back.

You may find many of the kitchen utensils missing. You will have to ask housekeeping if you prefer more supplies.

If your room is booked on the first floor, you can expect a bit of noise. By the way, there's no Wi-Fi in the rooms either.
