Temple was a Bharatiya (Indian) Guru of the Dattatreya tradition (sampradaya), widely respected in indian states of Maharashtra as well as in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh with Shripad Shri Vallabha and Narasimha Saraswati. His existence in physical form is dated in the nineteenth century AD.(110km) • Dattatrey Temple (Ganagapura) Ganagapura is a kshetra (place of pilgrimage) associated with Sri Narasimha Saraswati Swami, the second incarnation of Dattatreya. According to the book Shri GuruCharitra, he promised that he would abide forever at Ganagapura. In the morning, he would bathe at the confluence of the Bhima and Amarja rivers. It is situated 45 km from Solapur.The temple was built in 12th century CE.The second among the 'Shaktipeeths' is Tulja Bhavani of Tuljapur. It is the family deity of the Bhosale Royal family, the Yadavs and of countless numbers of families belonging to different castes. The founder of the Maratha kingdom, Shivaji always visited the temple to seek her blessings.(45km) • Maldhok Bird Sanctuary (Nannaj) Maldhok Bird Sanctuary, the abode of Maldhok bird, Sprawling over a vast area of grassy plains, the sanctuary is a popular destination for bird watchers. Mongoose, squirrels and deer are also found in the area. The buses plying along the Solapur-Karmala route run right up to the sanctuar.The great Indian bustard at Nannaj and Karmala was first identified By Mr B.S.Kulkarni in 1972 and with his constant efforts to save the bird had resulted in Dr. Salim Ali visiting Nannaj and starting a research project. Mr Kulkarni wrote exentsively in local newspapers and made people aware of its existence and he is still active in trying to protect the bird and its habitat at Nannaj, near Solapur.(30km) • Buikot Fort (Solapur) Solapur Fort Bhuikot Castle is One of the Popular attractions around Solapur is the Bhuikot Fort.
