Positive Reviews
positive:
Cheerful, professional staff..
Guests have given the front desk, housekeeping, and wait staff rave reviews for their personable and professional customer service, commenting often on their smiling faces. Compliments also go to the chef at Blue Fish Grille, and car-less guests are also grateful for the complimentary shuttle which takes them to many restaurants and shops within a five-mile radius.
positive:
Clean, comfortable, modern rooms.
Many guests report a great night's sleep in the comfortable beds, and appreciate modern touches such as free Wi-Fi and easily accessible outlets as well as the hotel's new decor. Guests who book Concierge level rooms generally consider the added expense well worth it for the tasty breakfast, excellent evening hors d'oeuvres, and pretty view.
positive:
Pretty, quiet, convenient location
The Marriott St. Louis West is in a quiet business neighborhood, and overlooks a lake and wooded hiking trails. However, it is also easily accessible from the highway, putting guests within easy reach of the airport and St. Louis attractions such as the Gateway Arch, Busch Gardens, and Ballpark Village.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A long wait for a hot shower..
Several guests suffered through cold or lukewarm showers, while others had to let the hot water run for about ten minutes to bathe at a comfortable temperature. Some also found the water pressure too weak.
negative:
Housekeeping matters..
Though most guests find their rooms to be very clean, an unlucky minority did have issues to report, including bathrooms in need of deeper cleaning or linens that needed to be changed.
negative:
Nobody's perfect..
Though reviews of the staff are largely positive, a few guests report indifferent service at the front desk, or a long wait in the restaurant.
