Hotel Marina Inn & Suites (San Diego, USA)

Marina Inn & Suites has a perfect location, within walking distance to everything in Downtown San Diego. Little Italy, just a block from the hotel, offers many terrific dining options. The Gaslamp District, a nightlife and shopping hotspot, is a pleasant 25-minute walk. The trolley is just a block from the hotel and can take you anywhere from Old Town to the San Diego Convention Center. The Amtrak station is 15 minutes on foot and the airport is two miles away. Even though Balboa Park is a mile and a half away, it's difficult to reach by walking. A car or public transportation is your best option.

The staff is friendly and helpful. If you run into any problems, they will do their best to be accommodating. They are also knowledgeable about the area and can give you great advice and local tips.

Overall, guests were pleased with the accommodations and all the basic amenities the hotel provided complimentary, including the refrigerator, microwave, Wi-Fi, parking and continental breakfast.

Even though the hotel is on a busy street, the traffic noise is quite minimal at night. Only a few guests said it was bothersome. In addition, the San Diego Airport flight path is almost above the hotel so plane noise may be an issue. However, plane traffic is rare late at night, but may be an issue if you wish to go to bed early.

The parking lot is limited and the spaces are quite tight, which may be a problem if you have a large car. It's recommended that you get there early to secure your spot.

Several guests said they noticed billing errors on their statements. Double check your receipt before you check-out to sort out any issues immediately.
