Hotel Los Itzaes by 5th av (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

This was by far what guests liked most about the hotel. It was described as being very close to both Playa Del Carmen's famous “Fifth Avenue” shopping and dining street as well a the beaches that drew most of the guests to the city, resulting in very little wasted time getting to the attractions.

A surprising number of guests commented on the size of the rooms. Many were clearly very pleasantly surprised, saying that their room was a lot more spacious than they expected.

It was near impossible to find a review that contained any sort of criticism for the staff. On the contrary, many complimented them on offering excellent service and displaying a genuinely caring attitude. Many guests mentioned exceptional staff members by name.

This was perhaps the most common complaint guests had. Many felt that the buffet breakfast was simply too plain for their liking, with some yogurt, cereal, a couple of pieces of fruit and not much else. They did not seem to feel it prepared them well for the day ahead.

A number of guests pointed out that the building does not have a lift. Since it is a three storey building guests should be prepared to regularly climb two flights of stairs, depending on their room allocation.

Several guests complained that the streets outside could get quite loud at night. It seems that there is some nightlife in the immediate area, with guests reporting noise from clubs/bars and from the streets as well.
