positive:
The restaurant is amazing.
The hotel's restaurant has a Michelin star, and with good reason. Guests described the food as simply to die for, with every course prepared with expert skill and only the finest ingredients. They were also quite impressed by the extensive wine list, which features both old and new world wines. The service at the restaurant is also excellent, with waitstaff that are friendly and knowledgeable.
positive:
The grounds are beautiful.
Guests loved exploring the hotel's extensive grounds and gardens. The property is sitting on eight acres of land surrounded by dense trees. Guests can enjoy a game of croquet, sip a glass of wine on the terrace, or admire the beautifully landscaped gardens.
positive:
The staff is excellent.
Nearly every review reported that the employees at the hotel are courteous and professional.
Negative Reviews
negative:
The portions at the restaurant are small.
As is typical for a fancy restaurant, the portion sizes of each course are rather small. A few guests took issue with this, and would have preferred more food during their seven-course meal.
negative:
You may miss your morning coffee.
The rooms do not have tea and coffee making facilities. This did not bother some guests, who were perfectly happy waiting until breakfast to have their morning beverage. Other guests expressed that there was simply no way they could start their morning properly without it.
negative:
It’s a little off the beaten path.
Guests both loved and hated the secluded location of this hotel. They reported that the drive up was a bit treacherous and confusing. Once they had safely arrived, activities in the very small town were a bit limited, and guests that preferred to walk to their destination found it to be a bit of a hike. Other guests adored the very private, quiet location.
