Good Greek breakfast
The Greek breakfast was a hit with most of the guests, whatever their nationality. It was described as plentiful and varied, and containing delicacies that many guests perhaps would not ordinarily try at home.
Situated on the road in to stunning Paleochora, the Libyan Princess Hotel is a luxury boutique property offering guests a stylish Cretan retreat. The 33 rooms are simply furnished, and have a certain understated elegance. Each features air conditioning, minbar, flat screen TV with satellite channels, in-room safe, tea/coffee station, hairdryer, work desk and telephone. They are well soundproofed and all have private balconies. The focus at the hotel is on the lovely pool terrace, but there is also a wellness area with sauna, jacuzzi and gym. Massage and beauty treatments are both available. A buffet breakfast is available every morning, and a restaurant serving traditional Cretan dishes is open for both lunch and dinner. It has a particularly extensive range of Greek wines available. The town and its blue flag beaches are approximately 500 yards away. Crete’s Heraklian Airport is about a three hour drive from the Libyan Princess.

The surrounding town of Paleochora is described as a little rough around the edges, so guests felt relieved and privileged to be able to return from their trips to the calm and sophisticated environs of their lovely hotel.
A few guests mentioned specifically that they were happy that the hotel had underground secure parking. They slept a bit easier knowing that their rental car was safely locked away and would not likely be vandalised or pinched.
Guests mention that the hotel is a bit self contained, and turned in on itself. There are no extensive views of the sea or the town. Some liked this atmosphere, but those who appreciated a good view would have preferred a better outlook.
Guests travelling at the height of the season, when the hotel was full, commented that there really weren't enough sun beds for all. Naturally this caused some dissatisfaction and tension, especially as a result of some people “reserving” sun beds.
While complaints about hotel Wi-Fi are hardly rare, there were even more complaints about the Wi-Fi at the Libyan Princess than for the typical hotel. It seems there are real technical issues that prevent them from supplying reliable Wi-Fi to their guests.
