positive:
Delightful antidote to the typical resorts
Many guests liked this property for what it was not - a typical Mexican beachfront mega-resort. It is actually quite small, but guests appreciated the sense of calm that prevailed, and argued that since it was also right on the beach, they really had the same outlook as at one of the mega-resorts, but a much more tranquil atmosphere.
positive:
Friendly and attentive staff
It was very nearly impossible to find a harsh word written about the staff. On the contrary, many guests went out of their way to commend them for being not only welcoming and friendly, but also very attentive, seeming to know their guests needs almost before they did themselves.
positive:
Nice pool bar and terrace
Guests really seemed to like the general pool area, saying it was well thought out. They especially liked the pool bar, which they said was the best spot to grab light meals and drinks during the day.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Food a bit repetitive
Many guests who had booked an all inclusive package grumbled that the menu hardly changed from one day to the next, with the exception of the odd theme night. This resulted in those staying for a week or more quickly tiring of the food.
negative:
Extra little charges
A number of guests felt that they were being taken advantage of, just a little bit, when staying at the hotel. There seemed to be extra charges that were really unnecessary. Paid Wi-Fi and a taxi surcharge for taxis that collected guests at the hotel were two charges that were often mentioned.
negative:
Expensive to get into town
Guests who wanted to sample the street life and nightlife of Playa del Carmen mentioned that it was pretty expensive to get a cab to the centre, with the costs quickly building up if they made the trip several times.
