Guests travelling in the summer were quite impressed with the hotel's pool area, saying that the water was heated, and so quite comfortable to swim in, and that the whole area was kept very neat and clean.

Winter travellers mentioned that the cabins were not properly insulated, making them quite cold inside. While there were, of course, heaters, these struggled against the cold weather, usually unsuccessfully. Some said that lighting a fire seemed to do the trick, but of course the fire couldn't burn all night, so as the fire was put out and the night progressed, the temperatures plummeted.

Guests were really not impressed with the quality of the cabins. They were not only said to be old fashioned, which not have been the end of the world, but it had clearly been so long since they had seen even basic maintenance that everything in them seemed to be falling apart. Guests clearly felt that the lack of upkeep was affecting the functionality of the rooms, not just the aesthetics.

A number of guests were simply astonished to find that the owner/manager of the complex would simply not honour their confirmed booking when they arrived. In some cases they were shaken down for extra money, with the original confirmed rate ignored. In other cases they were overbooked and there was no accommodation available, leaving guests in the lurch and scrambling to find alternative accommodation when every place in the area seemed booked up.
