Hotel Lavanga (Hikkaduwa, Sri Lanka)

Whether you are with a group of friends, family or couple, the poolside area is where everyone goes to have a good time. The climate controlled pool is never too cold and the pool-side service is there to serve various snacks and drinks. The private beach is heavenly and very secure.

While some thought that the restaurant service was just ok, most of the guests really enjoyed the breakfast buffet that offers fresh juices and a large variety of international and SriLankan dishes.

Some guests have mentioned that not every room has a view or a balcony so if you plan on making your holiday extra special then opt for the room with a view. Some rooms even have a balcony with a jacuzzi overlooking the sea.

Previous guests have mentioned that there was always an issue during their stay and it would range from problems in their rooms that were not fixed, facilities that are advertised that do not exist, free perks are promised and never delivered, overcharging for services, and more. Some guests were delighted with their stay but others left disenchanted.

Guests were not pleased to find that they booked a spa resort to find that the only "spa" was an on-call masseuse.

While some of the staff members, particularly those by the pool, have been praised for being friendly and professional, the same cannot be said for most of the staff. Some guests have claimed that the reception staff can be rude and are not on the same level as a five-star hotel.
