Hotel Las Golondrinas (Playa del Carmen, Mexico)

This was perhaps what guests liked most about the hotel. It was described as being in a very central location. While the beach was a couple of minutes away, this short walk bothered no guests. They also mentioned that the commercial district, including the famous “Fifth Avenue” shopping area, was well within walking distance.

The overwhelming majority of guests felt that the staff were a credit to the hotel. They were described as very friendly and always willing to go out of their way to help out their guests when approached with a query or concern.

Quite a number of guests remarked that the hotel had a very genuine Mexican feel to it. They said that, unlike many hotels and resorts in the area, this one had a true local atmosphere and attracted not only foreign sun seekers, but local travellers as well.

Guests travelling as late as June 2016 reported that there were some pretty major construction works going on at the hotel. Of course this resulted in both noise and dust. The completion date of the work is not known, so guests are advised to check with the hotel beforehand.

A number of guests had issues with the Wi-Fi system, with the main complaints being that the signal was not strong enough to reach all the rooms, and that even when there was a signal the system was still slow and unreliable.

Quite a number of guests mentioned that they really didn't think much of the breakfast served at the hotel. It was a bit too bland, making some suggest that others would have better luck taking their breakfast at a nearby café or restaurant instead.
