Positive Reviews
positive:
Excellent home cooked meals
Perhaps the most striking thing about their stay at Lapida, guests have very high praise indeed for the meals served there. They are described as the very best of true home cooking, made and presented with love by the host, Mary. The fruit served at breakfast, freshly picked from the hotels own gardens, was also very much appreciated.
positive:
Very well-maintained gardens
Most of the guests booking in were there to experience a relaxing and tranquil holiday, rather than one filled with non-stop action. These guests very much appreciated the lovely gardens, which were described as perfectly maintained and very tranquil.
positive:
Lovely Turkish atmosphere
Several guests were most impressed that the atmosphere at the hotel was authentically Turkish, rather than some sort of miss-mash describing itself as “International”. They ascribe this to the fact that the hotel is family run.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Location a bit remote
Though there are some cafes and bars nearby, and Kyrenia is reachable by public transport, a few guests thought that these options would get tired after a while. They suggested that to truly make the most of the location and trip it would be necessary to rent a car.
negative:
Victim of its own success
Lapida is very well reviewed on numerous sites. As a result, occupancy rates are perhaps a bit higher than for the average hotel. A couple of guests mention that this may be causing an issue with staff shortages as the owners adjust.
negative:
No English language channels
Several guests point out that there are no English language stations available on the TV's. Guests will have to improvise, and perhaps make up their own subtitles to Turkish programming. It's a lot of fun, especially after a drink or two.
