Positive Reviews
positive:
Landmark on the beach.
The Landmark resort is right on the Atlantic Ocean in Myrtle Beach — so it won top marks for location with guests — and is perfectly placed for the Myrtle Beach Boardwalk. Guests said it is also an easy drive away from all of the other attractions of Myrtle Beach and handy to Myrtle Beach International Airport.
positive:
Quiet and family friendly.
Those who stayed said the rooms proved to be quiet, and some apparently have lovely ocean views, although make sure you book for these to avoid disappointment. The staff was generally found to be friendly and polite — even if not the most responsive — while guests said the resort was family friendly, with children's activities available in the summer season.
positive:
Huge array of pools, everything on site.
You will find the resort to offer a huge array of water attractions, including indoor and outdoor lazy rivers and even an oceanfront whirlpool. In addition, people appreciated the handy free parking, found the resort easy to access and were glad to have on site restaurants, a gym and, basically, everything you need.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Definitely dated.
Guests said this is a dated resort, which is well past its glory days and features worn furniture, carpet and furnishings in its rooms. Both the TV reception and overall room maintenance were occasionally issues for some of those who stayed and a few guests found the beds to be too hard for their liking.
negative:
Some room smells reported.
A small number of Landmark guests found their rooms to have a bad whiff to them whether this be, like a few, a cigarette smell despite the non-smoking rules, or more of a damp odor. Having this this, most guests did not report such problems, so these may be one-off issues.
negative:
Cleaning hit and miss.
If you are unlucky, you may prove to be among the minority of guests who found the standards of housekeeping to be unfortunately lacking — and in addition to guests finding their rooms or linen to be in a less than desirable state, a few said they found some bugs.
