Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient for the airport
Going by the reviews, it seems that many guests staying here were on airport layovers. To this end they found the location fantastic, saying that the hotel was no more than a couple of minutes drive from the terminal. Those who did not have their own car mentioned that there was a shuttle available and it seemed to work just fine.
positive:
Helpful and friendly staff
One of the first things guests mentioned in their reviews was that they thought very highly of the hotel's staff. They were described as incredibly friendly with guests often mentioning specific staff members by name, saying they went far beyond the call of duty to assist them during their stay.
positive:
Proximity of the lake
Guests liked that Lake Spenard was very nearby and had a walkway around it that made for an interesting stroll.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Extremely basic breakfast
Guests were really not impressed for what passed as breakfast at the hotel. They mentioned that it consisted of pretty much a hot drink and a pastry or two, and was not what they were looking for to get their day off to a good start.
negative:
Smell of tobacco smoke
A number of non-smoking guests who had booked non-smoking rooms were unhappy that they could smell smoke in their room. Some felt that it was as a result of smoke drifting on from the outside, while others were convinced that the room had recently been occupied by a smoker.
negative:
Could get a little noisy
Guests did seem to experience a bit of noise during their stay. They said that they could often hear the seaplanes taking off and landing nearby, though this was typically only during the day. Some also said the sound of traffic passing nearby disturbed them at night.
