Hotel La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Wausau (Wausau, USA)

Despite being quite close to Highway-51, a couple of guests reported that their room was a haven of peace and quiet. It may be that appropriate soundproofing has been installed, but light sleepers are still advised to ask for rooms facing away from the highway.

While it wasn’t often mentioned, since it is the sort of thing that is often taken for granted, a couple of guests said they were impressed with the Wi-Fi. They felt it was reliable and more than fast enough, but what most impressed them was that they just connected, without any complicated log in screens.

A surprising number of guests reported that they found some great restaurants very nearby. They didn’t feel they had to travel far to eat well.

A few guests pointed out that the breakfast room was a bit small. Even at the best of times it was uncomfortably crowded, but when the hotel was full it would become simply impossible.

Unusually for hotel reviews, there were a great many complaints about the staff. They were said to be unfriendly and unwelcoming on arrival, and really not much better later on in the course of a guest’s stay. Guests felt like they would really rather be anywhere else rather than at the front desk serving customers.

A couple of guests reported that their “non-Smoking” room had pretty obviously been recently been occupied by a guests who smoked. They were uncertain whether the hotel simply doesn’t enforce its own policies, or whether they were misled about it actually being a non-smoking room.
