Positive Reviews
positive:
Very pet friendly..
Fido feels right at home in the La Quinta Inn Tucson East, noting that many of the rooms open directly onto the interior courtyard, which offers some nice grassy areas with waste bag stations for their owners' convenience. Also, in contrast with many other "pet friendly" hotels, there is no added fee for four-legged guests.
positive:
A good grasp of the basics..
Though travelers widely acknowledge that the hotel is by no means luxurious, many feel that it covers most of the basics well: comfortable beds with plenty of pillows; reliable, uncomplicated Wi-Fi; a well maintained pool and hot tub; friendly, efficient staff; a simple, yet reasonably well presented breakfast with all the coffee you can drink.
positive:
Close to shops, restaurants, and hospitals..
The hotel is located in the medical district, and guests there visiting one of the area's many hospitals have received a generous medical rate. However, it is also a good base for exploring the Sabino Canyon or Mount Lemon. The Park Place Mall is just across the street, and there is a Denny's just across the parking lot.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Fridges and microwaves cost extra..
Several travelers on a budget were dismayed to find that their room did not have a microwave or mini fridge, though these amenities are offered in some of the larger, slightly pricier, rooms.
negative:
Room for improvement in housekeeping..
Though many guests describe their rooms as clean, other have housekeeping issues to report, including stained carpeting, bathrooms in need of a deeper clean, and pet hair from previous guests on the furniture or sheets.
negative:
Smoking indoors and out..
Several non-smoking guests assigned smoking rooms were put off by the odor of stale cigarettes, while others note that smoking is permitted on the patios and in the courtyard by the pool.
