Hotel La Quinta Inn by Wyndham Oshkosh (Oshkosh, USA)

Going through the reviews, one loses track of the number of times a guest mentions that the bed was one of the most comfortable they have ever slept in. Some liked the mattress so much that they wondered out loud how they were going to get it past reception without them knowing.

While guests were, for the most part, very happy with the staff, saying that they were friendly and welcoming, what most seemed to impress was their helpfulness. A number of guests said that they received especially useful or good local information and recommendations.

While guests didn’t think it was especially fancy, they did like the design of what was clearly fairy recently renovated rooms and public areas of the hotel.

An extraordinary number of guests mentioned that GPS systems don’t properly identify the street the hotel is on and send you on a wild Goose chase around Oshkosh. The hotel is aware of the problem, said to relate to municipal address changes made a few years back. The suggestion is to make sure that you have up to date maps loaded on your GPS.

It was hard to find anything positive written about the breakfast. Most guests found it to be much too simple to offer anything to arouse their enthusiasm. Some were especially critical of the lack of meat, or any protein really, to complement the carbohydrate foods.

A couple of guests mentioned that they could clearly hear sounds as low as people talking, or a TV playing at normal volume, coming from adjacent rooms, let alone dogs barking. They felt inadequate soundproofing measures had been taken.
