Positive Reviews

Superb location
By far, the most endearing aspect of La Quinta Austin Capitol seems to be its location. Even those guests who found cause for complaint conceded that the setting was ultra convenient. You can walk to many of the downtown attractions, including the famous Sixth Street.
positive:
Nice staff
Most guests found the staff offered a friendly service, with many singling out individual members of staff for their kind and helpful attitude. It does seem that despite other issues with the property, the standard of service here will not disappoint.
positive:
Reasonable breakfast
Although several guests bemoan the lack of protein items on the breakfast bar, most were able to have to satisfying start to the day. Also, guests mention that there are numerous restaurants nearby, so you won't be short of alternative dining options if you find breakfast is not to your taste.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Mixed opinions of room quality
Only a small number of guests were entirely satisfied with the standard of their allocated room, with many reporting both minor and significant issues. Problems are mainly centered around cleanliness (or lack of), although other concerns include missing amenities and dated surroundings.
negative:
Communal areas are dirty
Several guests mention that the communal areas of this hotel, particularly the hallways and elevators, are very dirty. Threadbare and stained carpets, poorly maintained decor, and urine smells seem to be the order of the day here.
negative:
Valet parking only
While guests tend to find the rates at this hotel are competitive compared to other Austin hotels, some mention that they found the charge for valet parking was excessive. Unfortunately, this is the only option, unless you fancy your chances of finding available street parking.
