Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient breakfast available
Although several guests said the food could be a bit better, most definitely appreciated having the breakfast available. La Quinta is a chain that includes breakfast as standard, and guests were just happy they could go downstairs, grab a bite to eat and be on their way - rather than have to find a restaurant themselves in an unknown city.
positive:
Helpful and understanding staff
Whatever other small problems guests had with the hotel, it was very rare to find anything bad written about the staff. Guests were especially impressed by how willing they were to go out of their way to help them when an issue arose.
positive:
Fresh and clean
Several guests commented that both their rooms and the public areas of the hotel had that clean and fresh feeling - a bit like freshly laundered sheets.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Walls are “paper thin”
A couple of guests reported that they could hear sounds as innocuous as people talking in adjacent rooms. They didn't think that any soundproofing had been installed during construction, and found the quality of their sleep to be dependent on how considerate their neighbors were.
negative:
Rooms not ready in time
While obviously not at typical experience, a surprising number of guests complained that their room wasn't ready when they wanted to check-in, even though it was after the official check-in time.
negative:
Woof woof yap yap
The La Quinta Group has some of the most pet-friendly policies in the industry. Naturally guest with pets welcomed this, but others not necessarily so. Dogs of course bark from time to time, it's only natural. Some guests, however, were none to happy when that barking occurred when they would really rather be sleeping than listening to it.
