Positive Reviews
positive:
Very convenient location
Though the hotel is not in central Meridian, this fact did not seem to bother any guest in the slightest. They liked being close to the interstate, since it meat the hotel was easy to find initially, and also that it was easy to zip onto the freeway and head off without having to contend with city traffic. And in any event, the center of Meridian was just 1.5 miles away.
positive:
Welcoming and friendly staff
Despite many guests having a couple of issues during their stay, it was very hard to find any unkind words written about the staff. Guests were almost unanimous in saying they were both welcoming and friendly.
positive:
Very pet-friendly
Guests who brought their pet along seemed to feel that they were genuinely welcomed, rather than merely tolerated.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Looking a bit tired
This was perhaps the most common complaint. Guest after guest mentioned that the building was definitely showing its age, both inside and out. They felt that it would benefit from a full makeover, and in fact would require one if it were to remain a viable option.
negative:
Limited restaurants nearby
While there is a great choice of Southern restaurants in the town, a couple of guests were unhappy with the selection in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. It may be necessary to travel a bit in order to eat well.
negative:
Rooms not well soundproofed
There really weren't many complaints about noise from outside the building, despite the proximity of the interstate, but noise from inside was another matter entirely. Several guests reported that others were often very inconsiderate and also that the walls were “paper thin” and did very little to keep the noise from adjacent rooms from drifting to their own room.
