It was near impossible to find a bad word written about the staff. On the contrary, more than one or two guests thought that several staff members were the friendliest and mot helpful they had encountered in many years of hotel stays.

Guest after guest mentioned that they could find no fault with the cleanliness of their room. Even those who admitted to being “neat freaks” felt that the housekeeping staff had done an incredibly good job each time they cleaned their room.

Guests traveling with their pets welcomed La Quinta's incredibly pet-friendly policies. They felt that their animals were actively welcomed, rather than merely tolerated as a matter of policy.

The downside of the pet-friendly policy was that dogs have a tendency to bark, even well-behaved ones. A couple of guests mentioned being woken up or disturbed by dogs in nearby rooms barking.

Perhaps this was no surprise, since pull-out couches are seldom as comfortable as beds, but quite a number of guests remarked that the ones used in this hotel were especially uncomfortable. Guests relegated to one of these did not seem at all happy.

For reasons that weren't fully explained, a remarkable number of guests said that they found the hotel quite difficult to find at first. Most went on to say that after they had located it, it became easier to make their way to and from the highway, but they did tend to struggle at the outset.
