Hotel Kyriad Avignon - Palais des Papes (Avignon, France)

It didn't seem to matter what guests were looking for, whether nightlife, shopping or historical attractions, all these were said to be within very short walking distance of the hotel. Mentioned often was the Palais des Papes, which was said to be just steps away.

Very unusually for hotel reviews, there weren't any complaints about bed comfort to be found. On the contrary, many guests went out of their way to say that they found their bed to be very comfortable. It seems the hotel may have found the holy grail of mattresses - one with exceptionally broad appeal.

Despite the central position, overlooking a busy town square, guests mentioned it being very quite in their rooms at night. They seem to credit the double glazed windows, which appear to be truly soundproof.

While it didn't seem to be a major issue for any guests, several mentioned that the rooms were a bit small. They said they would more suit guests who spent their time out exploring, rather than in their rooms.

While it didn't seem to affect their stay much, quite a number of guests found the room décor to be uninspiring and drab. They would have really preferred something with a bit more style.

Several motorists mentioned that the area around the hotel is a “nightmare” when driving. The roads were never designed for cars and there was no parking to speak of. It was suggested that you park outside the city walls.
