Situated in the marina, and also only steps from the beach, Kanta Resort offers modern accommodation and resort facilities in an ideal location. The rooms are fairly simply furnished with tile on the floor to help with cooling. Each features en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, satellite TV, in-room safe, hairdryer and private balcony. There are several pools for all ages in the resort, as well as sports facilities like tennis and mini golf. The animation program, for all ages, is a crowd favourite, and includes live music and cabaret later at night. There is free Wi-Fi available in some public areas of the resort. The on-site restaurant serves all three meals and uses the buffet format. Afternoon tea is also served, and there are regular gala dinners. Soft drinks, water and basic alcoholic beverages are included in the meal plan. The resort is the main attraction, but there are also several good golf courses in the immediate surroundings.
A couple of guests mentioned that, despite being a fairly large property, it is family run and the owner is very much involved. This seems to have resulted in a very different atmosphere to the big corporate chains. It seemed just a little bit more friendly and welcoming.
The on-site restaurant is large and uses the buffet format. Because of this some guests had perhaps been expecting the worst, but they were very pleasantly surprised. The food was described as very good, with quite a bit of variety. There really weren't many complaints of things getting stale as the holiday progressed, so it seems there was enough variety for all.
Even guests travelling at the busiest time of the year said they never really had a problem finding a sun bed when they really wanted one. It seems that Kanta, unlike many other resorts, has planned for enough sun beds for the number of guests accommodated.
Several guest seemed to have a problem with the air conditioning. Either it didn't work at all, or worked so poorly it didn't do much to cool the room. While they might have changed rooms until they found one with a functioning air conditioner, this may not always be possible.
This was a bit of a curious one, but it was mentioned that the resort has an Irish bar that not only has no discernable Irish atmosphere, but didn't even sell Guinness. Guests found this most peculiar.
While they were said to be very hard working, some guests reckoned that the team were not professional entertainers, but amateurs a bit out of their depth. Their shows lacked any sort of polish.
