One of the first things guests mentioned in their reviews was that the hotel’s staff were both friendly and very engaged. Guests said they were as different from the stereotypically uninterested hotel employee as it was possible to be. They always seemed on top of any situation that arose and needed their attention.

The overwhelming majority of guests were very happy with the value they received during their stay. They mentioned that the room rates were particularly reasonable and that, for the price, the accommodation was very good indeed.

Going by the reviews, it seems many guests were visiting one of the ECU campuses in town. They found the location of the hotel very convenient, saying it did not take very long to travel to any of the campuses.

An extraordinary number of guests reported problems with smoke odor. The hotel does allow smoking, and it seems that many guests do indeed smoke. Guests say that, as a result, the hallways and public areas of the hotel always smelled of smoke.

Many guests reported that they were missing various items in the kitchen - sometimes a pot or pan, but usually a glass, plate or the like. Guests got the impression that they were fully equipped at one time in the past, but as items broke or were removed they were not replaced.

A great many guests were not satisfied with the cleanliness of their rooms on check in, listing various issues from spider’s webs to dirty dinnerware.
