Clean, comfortable, "still new" rooms...
The Ibis Muenchen City Ost was built in 2015, and guests generally find it still has that "brand new" look and feel. The rooms are often described as very clean and comfortable, with trendy, modern decor, comfortable beds, and fast, reliable free Wi-Fi. Many feel the hotel offers good value, especially as Munich is widely considered an "expensive" place to visit.
positive:
Friendly, welcoming staff...
The hotel staff is often described as very friendly, professional, and helpful, even when they are busy because the hotel is booked full. International travellers are grateful to discover the front desk team speaks fluent English.
positive:
Quiet but well connected location...
Guests who prefer returning to a quieter atmosphere at night appreciate the hotel's suburban location. There's a big grocery store right next door, and a "lovely" bakery within a five-minute walk. The area is also well connected to both Marienplatz and the airport by the S-Bahn, with U-Bahn stops and the A94 highway also nearby.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Slippery when wet...
Several guests note that the shower is not fully enclosed, and it is easy to end up step out on to a soaking wet floor. The shower is also not entirely private from the bathroom area, which can be awkward for some guests, too.
negative:
A few bad eggs...
Though the breakfast is widely considered decent, if a little pricey, guests who visit the buffet daily note there is not much day-to-day variety. A few guests have also reported unpleasant encounters at the front desk, though the majority of guests have a neutral or positive experience.
negative:
A little too basic for some...
Some guests have been disappointed in the lack of amenities such as a coffee machine, kettle, or fridge, while others wish for greater square footage.
