Surrounded by dense woodland, the beautifully landscaped property features expansive lawns, streams and even a small waterfall. The serene setting delights guests, who recommend taking a stroll around the grounds if you have time.

A torrent of tributes attest to the hardworking team of happy housekeepers who keep the property in pristine condition. For even the most obsessive of guests (some of whom travel with cleaning products), the rooms, bathrooms and common areas are maintained to the highest possible standards.

While some think breakfast is a little costly, countless others attest to its worth. With made-to-order eggs, Harney & Sons tea, real butter, fresh fruit, warm bread, traditional yogurts and much more, the mouthwatering spread is vast. Trained chefs are on hand to accommodate those with dietary restrictions.

One of very few guest gripes is about the occasionally distracted attitudes of inexperienced front-of-house staff. Those accustomed to the brand are used to being warmly welcomed and offered orientation at check-in, referred to by name, asked how they are, etc. and notice when these things are lacking.

The ratio of positive to negative reviews suggests the highest standards are almost always maintained. Very occasionally, a guest grumbles about a staff shortage during busy periods, noise from corridors or smelly corridors, but these isolated instances don't detract from the hugely positive experience of most.
