The smile hardly wavers as the front-desk members of staff deal with the problems and queries that can mar many a check in operation. The hotel is genuinely, very family friendly and again, the patience shown by members of staff is admirable.

It’s a mile from 1-95 and is easy to find. There are fast food outlets in the immediate vicinity and many more dining choices just a short drive away.

If you stay here, you get a breakfast discount at IHOP. Every little helps plus this does really help to keep the costs down.

There’s no Wi-Fi signal to speak of. They include a fridge and microwave to encourage self-catering … but there’s no dining table in the room! Air conditioning is freezing cold and the water in the shower is blisteringly hot.

Some fixtures and furnishings are somewhat on the ancient side but there have been some inroads as the result of recent renovations. Long may these continue! As it is at present, some rooms are reported to be hosting cockroaches and these creatures don’t seem to mind cleaning glitches, ‘hairy’ bed linen and towels that have seen far better days.

The atmosphere isn’t one of easy relaxation. Instead, you’ll be aware of some strange characters hanging around the neighbourhood … and inside the motel. The fact that there’s a police car on the parking lot, with its engine running, is an indication of something dubious being afoot.
