Hotel Hill City Inn (Lynchburg, USA)

Walking distance to nearly everything in Lynchburg. A bit of an older venue, but gradual renovations appear to be taking place on the exterior as well as in rooms. Plenty of parking and easy access to shopping. as well as excellent dining with a tasty and popular pizza place just a few blocks away called Waterstone.

Most of the staff have been praised for their charming and courteous helpfulness. Eager to give suggestions and answer questions.

Good bang for the buck, as long as you don't mind the bare basics with an occasional glaring flaw. The room is large and well-supplied for the price - microwaves, mini-fridges, decent working flat screen televisions and basic amenities. Beds are comfortable. Dogs are welcome. Air conditioning/heating is adequate, although you might want to wipe out the vents if you get a chance. Some have mentioned enjoying the pool. Breakfast is fruit, donuts, coffee, tea, cereal, pastries in packaging.

Some haven't felt comfortable in the parking lot at night due to people lingering. Check your locks, set your alarm and bring your belongings inside with you.

Some were disturbed due to revving engines outside, motorcycles, loud voices late into the night, the ice cream truck driving through and unattended dogs barking.

Ants were a nuisance for some; cockroaches annoyed others. Mildew in the bathrooms and overall strange-smelling rooms. Wallpaper is peeling off walls. Power outlets are sparse and in weird places. Extra bedding for the sleeper sofas costs extra - or isn't offered at all (depends on the staff you get) and regular bedding might be stained. In-room Wi-Fi is definitely hit or miss. Key cards need re-keyed (or exchanged for different keys entirely) often.
