Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham Airport Area was primarily found to be useful for its proximity to the I-20 interstate highway and Birmingham-Shuttlesworth International Airport, and guests appreciated being able to take a hotel shuttle to the latter, as well as to other local destinations.

Guests liked being able to help themselves to free hot drinks and cookies in the lobby and said the staff was hospitable and quick with check-ins, although a few people experienced lackadaisical service from time to time.

A handful of those who stayed at Hampton Inn & Suites Birmingham Airport Area said the hotel entrance was a little hard to find and the location was not close to much.

Some guests found the breakfast buffet to be below Hampton standard and not always kept properly topped up, with people occasionally disappointed to find some food missing. However, many enjoyed the free offering's decent range of hot and continental options, in addition to packed breakfasts for those having to leave in a hurry.

The room maintenance here was occasionally described as being below par, and the pool was found to be out of order or kept in bad condition on a few occasions. A handful of guests also thought the carpets were stained, hairy and in need of deep cleaning, along with bathroom removal of a little mildew and mold.
