Situated in a quiet residential suburb, Guijo Suites offers modern and sophisticated accommodation to guests looking for high quality at reasonable prices. The rooms have that sleek and modern international feel to them, and feature air conditioning, minibars, tea/coffee stations, flat screen TV’s and in-room safes. Reception is open 24 hours and can assist with tours, transfers and local information. Wi-Fi is free and available throughout the property. A buffet breakfast is served every morning, while the lobby restobar serves American-inspired drinks and meals for the rest of the day. Reception staff will also be happy to offer good local dining recommendations if asked. Central Manila is just over four miles from Guijo Suites. Families will find the acclaimed Manila Ocean Park, one of the largest oceanarium’s in Asia, 4.3 miles away.
Although the hotel is some distance from central Manila, guests did not seem at all concerned by this. In fact many seemed to prefer it. The neighbourhood was described as clean, peaceful and fairly quite, leading to a very restful stay for most.
Pretty much all reviews that mentioned value at all agreed that the hotel offered good value. Many guests considered the room-rate they paid fairly low, but the standard of accommodation quite high, and so concluded that they received excellent value for money.
Guests were generally very impressed with the rooms at Guijo Suites. Perhaps as the name would suggest, they found the rooms to be exceptionally spacious, and seemed happy that there was more than enough room for their party, and they weren't constantly bumping into their partner.
While this may seem like a fairly strange complaint, it was in fact brought up by quite a few guests. Perhaps because the Philippines is so well known for its fresh juices, guests were definitely expecting to have these available at breakfast. They were not included in the standard breakfast, but it does seem that they could be purchased separately.
While this may be pretty much inevitable in the tropics, some guest mentioned that there was a bit of a problem with mosquitoes in their rooms, and felt the hotel was not doing enough to offer relief. Some suggested that at the very least mosquito coils be supplied to guests.
The hotel is completely non-smoking and levies fines if guests were found to have smoked in their rooms. Some who received these fines considered the amount to be far too high.
