Positive Reviews
positive:
Convenient location without being noisy
The hotel is within easy reach of three metro lines, Ginza's main shopping area and several bars and restaurants. It is certainly a vibrant setting however not quite as busy or cramped as some of Tokyo's other tourist/business hubs. The main shopping street is even made into a pedestrian-only zone for a time on weekends so the extra commotion that traffic sometimes causes can be avoided.
positive:
Comfortable, albeit small rooms
As is common in many hotels throughout Tokyo and Japan as a whole, most of the rooms are quite compact. They are all however, well-appointed, neat and enjoy plenty of natural light from the wide windows. Those on higher floors even have the added perk of panoramic city views.
positive:
Relaxing guests' lounge
For anyone wanting a place to relax out of their room, the cosy guest lounge is open twenty-four hours daily and complimentary coffee and water are available. Newspapers are also provided and replenished daily.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Not all rooms are non-smoking
When booking a room at the hotel, it is worth noting that both smoking and non-smoking rooms are options so do choose accordingly and specify your preference when making your reservation. The smell and the fact that the windows do not open may further aggravate a non-smoker booked into a smoking room.
negative:
Little nightlife around
As Ginza is not quite as busy as some of Tokyo's main tourist areas such as Shibuya for example, not a lot of the restaurants and bars stay open past midnight and you won't find many clubs either.
negative:
All in all good value for the area
Considering the comfort and quality of the hotel as well as the safe, upmarket area it is situated in and the conveniences at your doorstep, the Hotel Gracery Ginza is a steal for short stays or business trips, for example.
