More than ample breakfast
Glenfield Ballymena clearly lives by the motto of breakfast
being the most important meal of the day. Several guests mention being able to
totally forego lunch, such was the size of the portions served up every
morning. But it was not only the portions that impressed, guests were more than
happy with the taste and variety as well.
positive:
Friendly and welcoming host
Guests were very complimentary of the host, who is described as very sweet and welcoming, always seeing that her guests have all they need for their stay. The hot tea immediately on arrival was especially appreciated.
positive:
Plenty of parking
While perhaps not surprising, considering the B&B is located on a farm, guests did comment that they were very happy that there was more than enough parking. It was one less thing to worry about when returning from their travels.
Negative Reviews
negative:
A little difficult to find
Like many rural properties, it was mentioned that Glenfield Ballymena was quite difficult to find. SatNav is often thrown for a loop in these cases, hopefully not leading to rather comical episodes of cars driving into lakes. In any event, entering the precise co-ordinates into the SatNav may help, or failing that an old-school map may be the best bet.
negative:
Shared bathroom across the hall
Only one of the rooms has a private en-suite bathroom. The rest share a bathroom down the hall. While it was not mentioned often, this sort of set-up can cause guests to feel a bit awkward, especially when using it first thing I the morning while still in their pyjamas.
negative:
No Wi-Fi in the bedrooms
While it seems that Wi-Fi was available downstairs, guests mentioned that it wasn't accessible in their rooms. This led to a little frustration.
