Positive Reviews
positive:
Lovely quiet location
Guests often commented that they chose the hotel specifically because it was some way out of central Rome, and so expected to avoid the noise and hub bub. They were not disappointed with their choice, and describe the location as quiet and peaceful.
positive:
Nice stroll to metro stations
Guests say they don't mind the out of the way location so much because there are two metro stations nearby that could take them into Rome. They describe the walks to the stations as passing through charming neighbourhoods.
positive:
Good Wi-Fi
Contrary to many other experiences, recent guests tend to praise the hotels Wi-Fi, saying it is sufficiently fast for their needs.
Negative Reviews
negative:
No (hot) late night showers
As is fairly common practice, the Fenix turns off its boilers later at night to save electricity. While this may well be a green initiative, international travellers, and many others, are often on non-conventional time schedules, and may well want to shower at 1AM. They may well find that it will have to be a cold shower.
negative:
Reports of air conditioning not working
A surprising number of guests maintain that the air conditioning units in their rooms did not work properly, and this was most inconvenient in summer when temperatures soar, and tempers and patience shorten proportionally. What was even more surprising was that a couple of guests who stayed in the cooler months also wished to use the ineffective air conditioning units. It seems some rooms may get hot whatever the season.
negative:
Rooms a bit smaller than expected
Considering the location out in the suburbs, many guests expected room sizes to increase a little. Unfortunately they were a bit disappointed, and they still regarded the rooms as small.
