Positive Reviews
positive:
Appealing location north of downtown Raleigh
It pleased reviewers that downtown Raleigh was easily reached from this property just off Interstate 440 in the city's northern suburbs. Drivers liked the free parking and also said it was straightforward to reach the Research Triangle Park and neighbouring Durham plus area attractions, universities, shopping centres, sports arenas and the airport. The proximity of filling stations and bus stops plus shopping options and places to eat was another bonus.
positive:
Inexpensive rooms boasted well-equipped kitchens
Travellers looking to spend less often remarked that their stays represented good value for money because the rooms were normally reasonably-priced. Although the generously-sized rooms were reportedly nothing fancy, many reviewers said they were more than adequately clean and comfortable. Those on extended stays liked the way they could prepare light meals at their own convenience in the fully-equipped kitchenettes.
positive:
Customer care won praise
Many guests experienced good customer service provided by a professional, obliging and pleasant team of personnel who had lots of local knowledge at their disposal. Animal lovers were delighted with the handy pet-friendly policy.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Complimentary breakfast divided opinion
Plenty of diners said the free grab-and-go breakfast was a welcome bonus. However, several critics took issue with the limited menu offering of coffee, fruit, muffins and granola bars, claiming it amounted to more of a light snack than a full meal.
negative:
Maintenance and cleanliness issues
Dated decor, blown light bulbs, bathrooms that could have been more vigorously cleaned, lingering smoky odours and pet smells were among the cleanliness and maintenance problems faced by guests in several rooms. Some travellers also expressed disappointment that the free weekly housekeeping didn't come more frequently.
negative:
Mild security concerns
Several visitors occasionally voiced mild security concerns about some of their fellow residents who they claimed were possibly up to no good.
