Gem of a location
While it is tucked away into the Maine forest, location appears to be this hotel's unique selling point. Despite the quiet surrounds, it is close to I-95, the local mall and shopping as well as Port Elizabeth Lighthouse. This hotel was also ideal for those who wanted to make the hop into downtown Portland.
positive:
Reasonable price
A lot of guests noted that this hotel provides just the basics, but for the price and its well-appointed location, many felt that this property just couldn't be beat.
positive:
Spacious rooms and friendly staff
Finally, the size of the studios here were most impressive, with guests commenting very positively on their spacious accommodation. A number added that the overall ambience was extremely peaceful and soothing. Finally, the front desk team here were also notable for giving a warm, friendly welcome to all guests.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Confusion over amenities
While the kitchen units here are fully-equipped, you do need to ask staff for cutlery, pots, pans and plates. This did not appear to be communicated well to some guests, who, upon walking into their studios, assumed that they had somehow ended up in sub-standard accommodation.
negative:
Hard beds
Beds here were also an issue, with a number of visitors reporting that their mattresses were simply too hard and stiff. For some, this translated to a very poor night's rest and unfortunately had an impact on their overall experience here.
negative:
Slim pickings at breakfast
This property advertises a simple grab-and-go breakfast, consisting of oatmeal, granola bars, muffins and coffee. Unfortunately, some found these offerings a little too basic for their liking.
