Positive Reviews
positive:
Clean, quiet, and comfortable...
The rooms are widely described as very clean, spacious, and comfortable, with up-to-date decor, really big tvs, and a cozy pull-out sectional in the sitting area. The location is popular with families or couples on a budget, many of whom find it "exceptionally" nice for the price, which is about half of what you might expect for a hotel in Pittsburgh city center (about 20 minutes away). The well maintained pool is a big plus, too.
positive:
A hearty breakfast...
Many guests rave about the complimentary breakfast; the freshly made egg sandwiches are a hit, and there is a good variety of other options, both hot and cold. The "real" dishes and silverware, both at the breakfast bar and in the rooms, add to the "homey" atmosphere.
positive:
Top marks for the staff...
The reception staff are often described as very friendly, warm, and efficient. Most guests find that the housekeeping team maintains a high standard as well.
Negative Reviews
negative:
Not so pet friendly?
Though the hotel is advertised as "pet friendly," cat owners should be aware that they can only accept dogs. Guests with allergies or aversions have been disappointed to find the canines are allowed on every floor, while some pet owners find the additional fee too steep.
negative:
Don't sleep in...
Though most reviews of the breakfast bar are very positive, a few less lucky guests have arrived to find empty trays and untidy tables close to the closing time. Some are disappointed to find the coffee is removed promptly when breakfast is over and not available in the lobby.
negative:
A noisy night for some...
A few guests have found the air conditioning too noisy, or else were disturbed by inconsiderate large groups such as wedding parties or youth sports teams.
